Lil Farmer
This weekend is Steamboat days in Winona. It’s an annual event that has been taking place for over 30 years (I think). They have a little kiddie parade for the different local kids’ groups to participate in. I’m not sure who all was there, but I saw at least one daycare and the Kwik Trip Cow (they sponsored the parade). Anyways, I decided last night to have Matthew ride in the parade with our MOPS group. I couldn’t think of a costume to have him wear and didn’t really have a ton of time to invest into it with our trips coming up but finally thought of something yesterday and started digging in his clothes to see what I could find. The parade theme was “breakfast” and our group theme was “Fresh from the Farm.” So, a little farmer makes sense, right? Someone has to take care of all the animals! I was able to find everything we needed but had to roll his pant legs to hide the fact they are about 3 inches too short…and it’s 85 degrees today!
So, without further ado, here are a few pictures of our Little Farmer:

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned MOPS before. Matthew and I started going in December and now I am on the Steering Team for the next 2 years. At my first meeting I was informed that it is encouraged that Steering members attend as many events as they can to set an example and be a good leader. I guess I felt a little guilty that I wasn’t planning on taking Matthew to the parade and because I’m missing our meeting next week. I wasn’t sure how Matthew would do but thankfully there was enough room for everyone to sit in the trailer so he did fine. He didn’t care much for the heat though. There were also only two other kids that were in any kind of costume so I’m glad I didn’t put any more time or effort into it as he was already the most dressed for the theme.
